Anemone: inside out Yesterday the leathery anemone (seen in the video) had pushed its insides outside.  I had not heard of this happening, nor read about it as I researched them.  I find that sometimes things don't show up in our research because we aren't searching for them.  After it happened, and I knew what to search for, I found information on it easily. As usual there wasn't a lot of consensus on what exactly it means.

Xenia: a blessing and a curse Back in the day, when I first started my marine tank I was very cheap as to my purchases.  Not that I don't look for a bargain now, but back then I wasn't sure if anything at all would live. I didn't want to spend $30 or more dollars on something just to have it die. My very first purchase was a small rock with an equally small colony of xenia, specifically pulsing xenia, on it for $9.00. It's called that because the heads pulse in a great rhythmic underwater opera.

The Wandering Anemone I have a green bubble-tip anemone (Entacmaea quadricolor) in my tank and it is a wanderer. There are a few different reasons an anemone wanders about.

Leather coral frag About a week ago I purchased a very small leather coral for my tank. It was very cheap so I got excited about it. I didn't take the time to really inspect the coral and it wasn't until I got home that I found there was a wound in the side. It may have been a recent frag, or perhaps recently pulled out of a home tank as a trade in.
